Minimal Everyday Makeup

Over the past few years, I’ve simplified my beauty routine more than I ever thought I would. What used to be drawers full of options has become a small, intentional collection of products I reach for every single day.

This clean girl makeup routine is fresh, minimal, and effortless — the kind of look that enhances rather than transforms. It’s polished without feeling heavy. Put-together without trying too hard.

And best of all? It takes me about five minutes from start to finish, which is essential with two little girls to care for.

If you’re looking for a minimal everyday makeup routine that feels timeless and easy to maintain, this is mine.

1. A Glowy, Lightweight Base

The foundation of any clean girl makeup look is radiant, natural skin.

I’ve moved away from full-coverage foundations and instead reach for a lightweight skin tint or sheer base that evens out tone while still letting my freckles show through. I also love this sheer skin perfector that instantly blurs imperfections and adds radiance for a natural, bare-skin look. The goal is healthy, luminous skin.

On good skin days, I’ll skip foundation entirely and just spot-conceal where needed. This under eye concealer is one I’ve been using for decades. It’s an eye brightening concealer that diminishes the appearance of puffiness, dark circles and gives an overall refreshing look. It’s a versatile loose mineral powder with SPF 20.

2. Healthy Radiance

I’ve been using this loose bronzer for twenty years. I apply the tiniest amount onto the apples of my cheeks and blend upward toward my temples for a subtle lift. It gives you a luminous, sun-kissed glow all year round and is made with just six natural mineral ingredients.

It makes me look instantly more awake — which, in this season of life, is always welcome.

3. Soft, Brushed-Up Brows

Full, natural brows are key to the clean girl aesthetic.

I lightly fill in sparse areas with this brow pen and then brush them upward with this tinted gel. Nothing overly sculpted or dramatic — just softly defined and lifted enough to frame the face.

4. Lengthening Mascara

Even on days when I wear almost nothing else, mascara is a must.

After lifting my lashes with a curler, a light coat on the tips of my lashes instantly opens up the eyes and pulls everything together. I prefer formulas that lengthen and separate rather than add heavy volume. The effect is clean, fresh, and effortless.

5. A Hydrating, Neutral Lip

To finish, I reach for a tinted balm, lip oil, or creamy neutral lipstick in soft pinks or nudes.

Something I can apply without a mirror. Something that fades naturally.

The Secret to a 5 Minute Makeup Routine

Truly, this look works because of what happens before makeup even begins. Good skincare, hydration, and a simple glow-from-within approach make all the difference.

This 5 minute makeup routine isn’t about covering — it’s about enhancing.

It’s about looking rested, fresh, and confident without spending half an hour in front of the mirror.

Below are the exact products I use regularly in my clean girl makeup routine. These are staples I’ve repurchased and rely on daily. At this stage of life, I’m not interested in trends and more drawn to timeless simplicity. This routine feels polished but never overdone. Elevated, but still approachable.
