Neutral Paint Colors of Note
Neutral Paint Colors of Note
With all the moving we've done in and around Nashville, I've become well-versed in neutral paint colors. If you've ever picked out paint colors for a home, you know how overwhelming it can be. I've curated a small arsenal of options that always seem to perform. One of the questions most often asked is:
“what paint colors are in your home?”
In this article, you'll find a short list of paint colors we have in our current home, as well as other paint colors we’ve used in the past.
In Our Current Home
Egret White (SW 7570) is the wall color throughout our current home here in Tennessee. I love that it's a subtle grey beige, and gives a touch of neutral color in every room. Depending on the light of the room, it can feel cooler or warmer, respectively.
Pure White (SW 7005) is our trim color and I think it pairs great with our walls. It translates as a fresh white, although it does have a creaminess to it that compliments the wall color nicely.
You'll notice Alabaster has warmer tones to it as well, which is why I love it so much. I first saw this color years ago in my friend Moriah's home, and immediately loved it. So much so, we chose to paint the exterior of our current home this shade of white.
Other Options I’ve Used
Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore is the color I chose for the exterior of my first house downtown, as well as the color I used for our current front door and shutters. It's versatile, but can sometimes translate a little muddy if you don't have a lot of natural light. Obviously when using it outdoors on an exterior, there's plenty.
I'm dying to use Simply White in our house, also by Benjamin Moore. It's a soft white paint color with just a bit of warmth. It has a touch of yellow in its undertones, making it a warm white without being too creamy. It's quite possibly the most versatile of all whites because you can use it practically anywhere in the home. It’s a fresh, clean looking white without being stark — similar to Alabaster in that way. .
Another favorite I have my eye on is Antique White by Sherwin Williams. I did some interior consulting with a friend of mine, and we sourced this color for her dining space. She wanted a color that didn’t take away from her beautiful draperies and antique details, but still helped the room feel smaller and more intimate. This color is warm, neutral and fit the bill perfectly!
I hope this short list of neutral paint colors can help you narrow it down. I know it can be overwhelming to choose, but the good news is, its just paint!
